Job Description:
As a Techonology Associate, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to users within an organization.
Your primary role will be to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, configure and install computer systems, and ensure the smooth operation of IT equipment and infrastructure.
You will play a crucial role in maintaining the organization's IT systems, maximizing uptime, and minimizing disruptions to end-users.
Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
Provide prompt and effective technical support to end-users via various channels such as phone, email, or in person.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related problems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
System Configuration and Installation:
Set up and configure computer systems, including hardware components, operating systems, software applications, and network devices.
Install and update necessary software, drivers, and patches on desktops, laptops, and other IT equipment.
User Account Management:
Create, modify, and disable user accounts in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
Provide support for user access rights, permissions, and password management.
Ensure compliance with security protocols and data protection regulations.
Hardware and Peripheral Support:
Maintain and repair computer hardware, printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices.
Coordinate with vendors for warranty repairs or replacement of faulty equipment.
Keep an inventory of hardware assets and ensure proper disposal of outdated or non-functional equipment.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
Document IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, and known issues to build a knowledge base.
Create user guides and provide training sessions to educate users on common IT tasks and best practices.
Contribute to the improvement of IT processes and policies.
Security and Data Backup:
Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures, such as antivirus software, firewalls, and access controls.
Conduct regular data backups and verify the integrity of backup systems to ensure data protection and disaster recovery readiness.
Stay Updated:
Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and industry developments relevant to the IT field.
Continuously improve your technical skills and knowledge through self-study and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Relevant certifications or a degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is a plus.
Proven experience as an IT Technician or in a similar technical support role.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, and networking fundamentals.
Familiarity with Windows, MacOS and ChromeOS environments.
Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
Experience with Active Directory and user account management.
Basic knowledge of network protocols, IP addressing, and network troubleshooting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective support to end-users.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
